I am still in love with you, my sunflower.

Love is patient, love is kind. It does not envy, it does not boast, it is not proud. It does not dishonor others, it is not self-seeking, it is not easily angered, it keeps no record of wrongs. Love does not delight in evil but rejoices with the truth. It always protects, always trusts, always hopes, always perseveres. Love never fails.

1 Corinthians 13: 4–8

I am still in love with you.

It probably does not sound as exciting as when I said it the first time, but when you’ve shown someone your heart in so many ways, reflecting on that simple truth is a beautiful revelation, every single day.

I am still in love with you.

I am still in love with your jokes and the quirkiness that comes with them. We could be walking down the street together, as we always do, and find something incredibly funny and say it together, without skipping a beat.

I am still in love with you.

I am still in love with your thoughtfulness, your kindness and the little things you do that always touch my heart. Your sweet surprises, and your intuitive understanding of when I need a comforting hug, a bit of advice, encouragement, or a leaning shoulder — these gestures brighten my days and amplify my joy in ways I cannot describe.

I am still in love with you.

I am still in love with your dreams and aspirations. Your tireless commitment to your goals inspires me to pursue my aspirations with the same intensity. I admire your ability to turn your dreams into reality and the dedication you invest in every endeavour.

I am still in love with you because you are my favourite person.

You are still my favourite person to hold, to comfort, to hug, to support, to cheer, to laugh with, to give anything and everything to, to share dad jokes with, to celebrate with, to be kind to, to confide in, to swim with in the deep shores of life’s terrain, to be warm with, to share a purpose with, to pray with and for, to be grateful with, and to love. I love taking care of you.

I will never stop loving you

My sunflower, do you remember that iconic scene from “When Harry Met Sally” when Harry confesses his feelings to Sally on New Year’s Eve?

It made me think of us.

Harry said;

I love that you get cold when it’s 71 degrees out. I love that it takes you an hour and a half to order a sandwich. I love that you get a little crinkle above your nose when you’re looking at me like I’m nuts. I love that after I spend the day with you, I can still smell your perfume on my clothes. And I love that you are the last person I want to talk to before I go to sleep at night.

Your quirks, your little habits, and every moment we spend together are carved in my heart. You are the person I love being with, and the one I want to talk to before drifting into sweet dreams.

I am your Harry. You are my Sally.

Happy birthday. I am still in love with you.
